Welcome to Congregation B'nai Tikvah Adult Education. Our programs are designed for both the experienced Jewish scholar – and the great majority of us still struggling to gain a firm foothold in Jewish history and traditions. We hope to enhance your spiritual journey in Judaism while at the same time providing a social outlet for our members. This includes congregants who have been here for a long time and those who are new to B'nai Tikvah. With all of this in mind, our 2014 educational offerings will include:

  • Two lecture discussion to be presented by members of the congregation. Dr. Phil Paris will review his work with patients addicted to opiates, including the options for treatment which have proven to be highly successful. Dr. Bruce Presnick will speak about his work in the area of aging, reviewing the tools he has employed in seeing people gain years of active health.
  • A weekly Jewish meditation group, Taste of Torah. Here we enjoy exposure to Jewish history, tradition and social progress through a look at some part of the weekly parsha. Our meditation group is open to all members, those with a long background in meditation and those who have found meditation for the very first time.
  • A film series and group discussions based on the Simon Schama BBC television series. His exploration of Jewish history is totally engaging as is his charm and presence.
  • A new class, Bridge for Beginners. While far removed from Jewish tradition, this class will allow our members to join together in a social settling, getting to know each other in new ways.

Please check the CBT calendar for the dates and time of all our adult education programs.
