Competition Structure
There are two stages of the competition, one virtual and one in-person:
Phase 1: Online Selection Round (September 14-20, 2025):
During this initial phase, participants engage in a comprehensive proctored multiple-choice examination from the convenience of their own personal computer. The exam evaluates contestants’ understanding of Middle Eastern history, politics, and international relations. Understanding the demands of academic schedules, we offer a flexible one-week testing window, allowing participants to select their optimal testing time.
Phase 2: Championship Finals (November 3-4, 2025):
The journey culminates in Washington D.C, where the top eight scorers from the online selection round participate in an all-expenses-paid academic retreat. Beyond the competition itself, this experience includes enriching educational programming with leading foreign policy professionals and structured networking opportunities.
