B’nai Tikvah Temple Youth

BTTY: B’nai Tikvah Temple Youth

Alex Young, President

NFTY (North American Federation of Temple Youth) is the Reform Jewish youth movement that helps teens forge and build friendships, lifelong Reform Jewish identities, and leadership skills through community building, worship, social action, and youth-led Jewish educational programming at the North American, regional and congregational level. As a youth movement at the forefront of creating and advocating for change at all levels of society, NFTY is deeply and actively involved in many projects to create change around issues that are important to us as teens and citizens, including bullying/harassment, disability inclusion, the environment, gender equality, gun violence prevention, mental health, racial justice, refugee resettlement, and Israel.

Over 500 Reform congregations throughout North America sponsor Temple Youth Groups (TYGs), bringing the NFTY experience to more than 6,000 high school-age young people in grades 9 through 12.

As a movement, NFTY builds strong, welcoming, inspired communities through teen-powered engagement. Together, we pursue tikkun olam, personal growth, youth empowerment, and deep connections, to teach compassion, fight injustice, engage with Israel, and build community. NFTY is the safe, home-away-from-home that inspires our teens to become their best selves and empowers them to change the world.

Led by teens, for teens, BTTY is B’nai Tikvah’s high school youth group. Each event is planned and led from start to finish by an elected board comprised of BTTY members. BTTY aims to create a more connected community, by bringing it together and fostering new friendships, as well as celebrating our shared heritage and having fun. Our events include movie nights, bowling trips, sports events, and jam sessions.

Our events are open to all Jewish high schoolers, and details are posted on our Facebook pageInstagram, and around the temple. In order to become a member of BTTY, simply come to an event!

BTTY is a fun, easy, no-commitment way to connect with other teens in the area, so feel free to join us and chill at any event, and forward any questions to BTTY@tikvah.org. See you at our next event!
