• Hanukkah 5782

Do you remember the magical spirit in the air two years ago at our Hanukkah celebration? The social hall was packed with laughter and chatter and kids running around and a general sense of joy and happiness. The sanctuary was so full that in this pre-COVID event we were sitting like sardines, shoulder to shoulder, and pouring into the aisles and the lobby, all of us feeling the strength and warmth in our community.

Let’s recreate this magical spirit of multigenerational togetherness on December 3 at our Community-Wide Hanukkah Celebration. While the room is not going to be packed with as many people, let’s pack the room with the same spirit in a COVID-safe environment.

We joined B’nai Tikvah to find a community in which my children could establish their Jewish identities and go through their B’nai Mitzvah experience. Little did I anticipate, that many years later, I would have an adult B’nai Mitzvah service of my own that strengthened my own bond to Judaism. I am grateful to have found this community in which my family has been able to learn and grow.

We came, we saw, we were conquered by the welcoming, warmth of everyone we encountered at B'nai Tikvah, by Rabbi Gutterman's words and Cantor Chabon's voice. We felt at home.
