Millstone Scholars Teaching Fellows- Part Time

About the Millstone Scholars Program

Millstone Scholars is a National Honors program for 7th & 8th graders attending public and secular independent schools in communities across the US. We are now entering our 4th year with 30 cohorts around the U.S. and growing.

Each week over the course of a full academic year, students participate in seminar style classes (in-person) with fellow young Jews eager to discover their own Jewish history and heritage in an intellectually serious way. As they explore Jewish texts, the heroic story of modern Israel, and the influence of Jewish Ideas on America, a strengthened Jewish identity emerges.

About the role

We are currently seeking working professionals and graduate students with a passion for Jewish education to facilitate the Millstone program in local cities across the country.

This is a part-time, in-person position based in the city of the educator’s cohort(s). Cohorts are typically 10-12 students and meet once per week for 75 minutes over the course of the 8-month academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lessons and activities based on curriculum
  • Facilitate engaging classroom discussions that promote debate and analysis of historical events
  • Record attendance and submit short seminar reflections
  • Collaborate with Millstone faculty and educator team
  • Maintain ongoing communication with parents
  • Maintain communication with Millstone scholars team
  • Submit evaluations and share requested feedback with program administrators

Experience and Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred, not required
  • Experience working with middle school-aged children preferred, not required
  • Effective classroom management skills
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Ability to engage and inspire students, parents, and families
  • Ability to foster respectful dialogue and encourage critical thinking
  • A strong knowledge base of Jewish and Zionist values, text and philosophy
  • Working knowledge of Tikvah’s work and alignment with the mission

Development Associate

Reports To: Senior Director of Development

Job Summary:
The Development Associate is a frontline fundraising role, responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of donors while supporting development initiatives including fundraising events, and campaigns. This position has a direct impact on Tikvah’s financial and operational success.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a personal portfolio of Tikvah Society donors and prospects (annual gifts around $2,000-$5,000).
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for this portfolio of prospects, developing and implementing a strategy for these accounts.
  • Set and regularly revise projections for all budgeted donors.
  • Communicate with donor portfolio via face-to-face meetings, emails, phone calls, and Zoom meetings.
  • Cultivate new Tikvah Society prospects from among Tikvah’s wider community of donors and subscribers.
  • Track all donor interactions in Salesforce and maintain accurate portfolio data, updating addresses, emails, and names as needed.
  • Support department’s strategic engagements including events, direct mail campaigns, email campaigns, etc.
  • Attend Tikvah’s events and other networking opportunities.
  • Regularly read Tikvah’s educational materials, participate in events, and take a proactive role in understanding Tikvah’s work.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Jewish ideas, culture, and American/Israeli public affairs
  • Willingness and ability to learn relevant software (e.g., CMR, Salesforce, email marketing tools, etc..)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Alignment with Tikvah’s mission

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

  • Familiarity with the public/non-profit sector
  • Prior experience with Salesforce CRM

The Development Associate will be a member of the development team and is expected to perform the above duties with a high degree of autonomy and independence.

The compensation range for this role is $65,000-$80,000, commensurate with experience and skill. The Development Associate will be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Salesforce Administrator

About the Role:
The Salesforce Administrator will help scope, design, implement, and continually refine the systems and processes that enable the Lobel Center’s four major initiatives to operate effectively and scale.
This role requires a professional who can engage program leaders in discovery, identify gaps or inefficiencies, surface edge cases, and translate evolving business needs into clear, durable system architecture. Success in this role requires comfort making informed recommendations and balancing responsive user support with proactive system design and long-term operational improvement. While the primary focus will be the Lobel Center, this position operates within a collaborative team environment and may contribute to cross-divisional Salesforce initiatives as organizational priorities evolve.

Key Responsibilities:
User Support & Operational Maintenance

  • Provide daily Salesforce user support, including responding to questions and resolving routine issues.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and assist staff with standard system requests.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards to support operational visibility.

Advanced Troubleshooting & System Reliability

  • Investigate and resolve complex system issues, including workflow, automation, and data discrepancies.
  • Manage and monitor integrations to ensure consistent performance and accurate data flow.
  • Proactively safeguard data integrity through audits, validation rules, and quality control measures.

Solution Design & System Development

  • Partner with Lobel Center leadership to clarify business requirements and recommend practical Salesforce-based solutions.
  • Design and configure scalable objects, fields, automations, and reporting structures that support evolving programmatic needs.
  • Contribute to system design decisions within established organizational architecture and governance standards.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain webforms and integrations (e.g., FormAssembly) to capture and sync data efficiently.
  • Assist with user training to ensure smooth adoption of Salesforce tools and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Salesforce Administrator certification.
  • Proven experience as a Salesforce Administrator, preferably in a nonprofit or fundraising context.
  • Hands-on experience managing Salesforce configurations, reports, dashboards, flows, custom objects, and user permissions.
  • Experience with webform tools and integrations, such as FormAssembly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: able to identify issues, recommend solutions, and implement improvements.

Program Associate – Student Programs

Job Summary
Tikvah is seeking a Program Associate to support our high school and college fellowship programs. This is a cross-functional role: the Associate will work across multiple programs and will engage directly with students in the classroom, at retreats, and throughout the program cycle.

We are seeking a candidate with exceptional organizational and communication skills who is flexible, enjoys working across several programs at a time, and thrives when liaising with different team members.

Role and Responsibilities Include:

Events and Program Management

  • Help plan and run in-person and online student events and retreats (including some Sundays and weekends).
  • Set up and manage Zoom classes; provide on-site support at retreats and in-person events, engaging with Tikvah’s students.
  • Communicate with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Assist with general program logistics.
  • Strategize with program directors about program expansion and improvement.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

Admissions Support

  • Review applications and assist with interview coordination.
  • Organize and manage applicant communications throughout the admissions process.
  • Support the financial aid process, including tracking and correspondence.

Data & Written Communications

  • Draft language for general emails and website content.
  • Manage contracts and engagement letters with faculty and vendors.
  • Update and maintain student data and Salesforce entries.
  • Compile readers and program materials.
  • Support curriculum development through editing and design.

Qualifications:

  • A college degree and minimum of two years’ experience in a related field are required.

Preferred Skills

We welcome candidates with a range of backgrounds and strengths. We are particularly interested in applicants who bring some or all of the following:

  • Project management – systems thinking, workflow design, and the ability to keep multiple programs running smoothly.
  • Event planning – experience with end-to-end planning and execution of in-person and virtual events, seminars, or retreats.
  • Data & reporting – proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, data analysis, and building tools to support program evaluation. Experience with bulk email platforms is also a plus.
  • Graphic and web design – experience creating visual materials and/or maintaining or updating website content.

Compensation & Benefits

Development Intern

About the Role:
The Development intern supports the planning and execution of fundraising initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit development. In this role, the intern will assist with donor research, database management, and outreach efforts, helping to identify and engage potential supporters.

They may contribute to the creation of fundraising materials, support event coordination, and help track campaign performance. Working closely with the development team, the intern will learn about donor relations, stewardship strategies, and the overall fundraising lifecycle. This position is ideal for individuals interested in nonprofit work, communications, and building relationships that drive mission-focused impact.

Qualifications:
