Jordan Blashek is Vice President of Business Formation at Schmidt Futures. In this role, he leads the organization’s talent, national security, and shared prosperity initiatives, and manages Schmidt Futures’ internal people functions. Prior to Schmidt Futures, Jordan served five years as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps, reaching the rank of captain. He commanded units during two combat deployments to the Middle East and Afghanistan. From 2011-2012, he led a helicopterborne raid force as part of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, a crisis response task force positioned in the Horn of Africa. In 2013, he served as a combat advisor in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, where he trained and advised the 215 Corps of the Afghan National Army. Jordan also serves on the board of Operation Gratitude, a non-profit that supports U.S. troops deployed overseas, and is the co-author of the non-fiction title Union: A Democrat, a Republican, and a Search for Common Ground (forthcoming, Little Brown Publishing). Jordan holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a B.A. from Princeton University.
