This course explores the figure of Socrates through three classic texts: Euthyphro, The Clouds, and The Apology. Students will examine how Socrates challenges conventional beliefs, investigating the notions of piety, truth, philosophy, and political life through his various depictions in these texts. Together, these works reveal why Socrates became both a controversial and enduring figure in the history of thought.
