In the 20th century, Americanism and Zionism were the two most successful “isms” of an ideological age. The others—communism, fascism, national socialism, and antisemitism—murdered millions. However, the stories of those involved in the historic work of Zionism and Americanism have, in many cases, been forgotten or misrepresented.

In his new book, historian Rick Richman portrays eight individuals who reflect the intellectual and social revolutions that Zionism and Americanism brought to the world. Join us for a discussion on three of those figures; Louis Brandeis, the man who mobilized the American Zionist movement; Vladamir Jabotinsky, the founder of revisionist Zionism who met with Churchill and Members of Parliament; and Ron Dermer, the man who left America to help Israel defend the freedoms Americans take for granted.
